Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representative Croft: Page 2, line 10, through page 3, line 1: Delete all material and insert: "* Sec. 2. AS 09.55.548 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: (c) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, damages may not be awarded in an action against a health care provider for professional negligence." Representative Kerttula moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. Representative Anderson objected. Representative Anderson placed a call of the House on the bill and lifted the call.
